Using WhatsApp On iPhone? Liquid Glass Update Is Coming To Your Chat Screen

WhatsApp Update: WhatsApp is gradually rolling out its Liquid Glass design for iOS 26, and the latest beta update suggests the overhaul is now moving deeper into the app. The new visual style, built around translucency, layered depth, and frosted glass elements, has already started appearing for some users through the App Store.  With the floating tab bar, redesigned buttons, and updated context menus already part of the change, WhatsApp is now working on bringing the same look to one of the most-used parts of the app: the chat interface. However, a full rollout is still some time away. WhatsApp Tests Liquid Glass Design For The Chat Interface According to WABetaInfo, following the release of the WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.17.10.70, available on the TestFlight app, WhatsApp is working on extending the Liquid Glass design to the chat screen. The update is currently under development and not yet available to all users. Even the button used to jump to the latest message in a conversation will follow the Liquid Glass style.  Beyond the chat bar, WhatsApp is also working on the navigation bar within the chat screen. Similar to other parts of the app, such as the chat list and the Updates tab, the navigation bar is set to become transparent, with a subtle fade effect that keeps messages and wallpaper softly visible underneath. Why Is WhatsApp's Liquid Glass Rollout Taking Longer Than Expected? Despite expanding availability over recent weeks, Liquid Glass has not yet reached all WhatsApp users. GST Boom Continues: Collections Cross Rs 2.4 Lakh Crore In April

The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection surged 8.7 per cent (year-on-year) to a record Rs 2,42,702 crore in the month of April despite geo-political uncertainties, latest official data showed on Friday. Net GST revenue for last month stood at Rs 2,10,909 crore, registering a 7.3 per cent annual growth (after accounting for refunds). Total refunds jumped 19.3 per cent (on-year) to Rs 31,793 crore, leading to a net GST revenue of Rs 2,10,909 crore for the month. The growth was supported by strong import-linked revenues. Gross import revenue rose 25.8 per cent to Rs 57,580 crore, while gross domestic revenue went up 4.3 per cent to Rs 1.85 lakh crore. In March, the total gross GST collections grew 8.8 per cent to over Rs 2 lakh crore as compared to the same month last year. The total gross GST revenue in March 2025 was over Rs 1.83 lakh crore. India’s Digital Payments Boom: 22.35 Billion Transactions In April, Up 25% YoY

India’s digital payments ecosystem 25 per cent year-on-year growth in the month of April at 22.35 billion transactions at Rs 29.03 lakh crore in terms of value, which is a 21 per cent annual growth, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on Friday. On a daily basis, the average number of transactions saw a notable increase to 745 million in April (from 730 million in March). The average daily transaction value also rose to Rs 96,766 crore last month, from Rs 95,243 crore in the previous month. The IMPS monthly volumes stood at 362 million with Rs 7.01 lakh crore in transaction amount (13 per cent YoY growth). Average daily transactions at 12.08 million saw a notable increase too. In March, the UPI had registered its highest-ever monthly transaction volume at 22.64 billion, since its launch in 2016. UPI is now live in more than eight countries, including the UAE, Singapore, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, France, Mauritius and Qatar, positioning India as a global leader in digital payments. Instagram has announced that accounts which regularly repost content they did not create will no longer be eligible for recommendations across the app. The Meta-owned platform said the move is aimed at ensuring original creators get the credit and visibility they deserve. The change extends existing protections, which were already in place for reels, to photos and carousels.  Carousels are posts that feature a collection of images and videos in a swipeable format. The update directly targets content aggregators that re-upload other people's work without adding anything new. How Instagram Defines Original Content According to Instagram, original content is anything someone wholly created, or that reflects their unique perspective, including photos or videos they took, or content they designed. The platform also considers materially edited content as original. This means using third-party content, such as meme templates or popular clips, is acceptable, as long as the user adds something that genuinely enhances it. "For example, an original meme transforms another creator's photo or video," Instagram explained in a blog post. The issue was first reported by 9to5Mac's Benjamin Mayo, who noticed that when he tried to charge his iPhone Air with a USB-C cable just seconds after the battery died, the phone did not turn on and did not show the red battery icon that typically confirms charging has started. A growing number of companies across industries are now restricting employee smartphone use during work hours, citing concerns over distraction, data security, and basic workplace etiquette. From financial giants to theatres, businesses are experimenting with physical pouches, strict meeting rules, and formal policies to keep phones out of the picture.  The results, however, are not entirely straightforward, with researchers pointing out that the impact of such bans can vary depending on the nature of the job. How Companies Are Enforcing Phone-Free Work Environments One of the more hands-on approaches comes from ID.me, a digital identity verification company. The Financial Times reports that the company rolled out phone pouches for around 290 support employees more than three years ago to better protect sensitive client data.  The small, sealed bags can only be opened at a magnetic unlocking station, similar to the Yondr-style pouches used at live events. Unlike traditional lockers, employees keep the pouches on them throughout their shifts, meaning they can still hear calls or emergency alerts. Phones are also accessible during scheduled breaks. "It gets us to connect with each other," Muiruri told the outlet. "I didn't really know people in the office as I was focusing on the friends I have outside the office. Now, we are very close as a team . . . [and] very big on going out together." "When I first started . . . I wasn't the best employee, constantly checking my phone," she added. Do Phone Bans Actually Improve Productivity? Not everyone is convinced the results are clear-cut. Adrian Chadi, an associate professor at the University of Southampton, says the evidence supporting phone bans as a productivity tool is far from definitive. His research suggests they may help with simple, routine tasks by reducing distractions, but the picture is murkier for roles that require creativity or problem-solving. "It is very difficult for researchers to determine the effects of a ban compared to a situation without such a ban in the same organisational context," Chadi told the Financial Times. "It is also possible that employees will perceive the ban very negatively if using their mobile phone offers obvious advantages at work, [especially] as people have become accustomed to the constant availability of their mobile phones." In London, the Royal Court Theatre introduced a similar pouch system for its Writers' Card program, asking playwrights to lock away their phones at the box office while working, attending talks, and taking part in networking events. Tata Altroz Diesel Long-Term Review: Mileage, Reliability Tested

Can the only diesel hatchback survive our gruelling 2 month long term test where we put over 5000km? Lucknow, Jaipur, Dehradun to name a few as our current long term diesel Tata Altroz has been regularly put through long distances by all of us. Initially it was used by me for a month where I took it to Jaipur and Chandigarh while later my colleague Arshad took it to Lucknow as well. Engine and Driving Experience The reason for the popularity of the Altroz diesel as you guessed it right is the engine which promises efficiency which petrols can't dream of. Diesel hatchbacks are a dying breed and the Altroz the is the only premium hatch to get this engine. The diesel engine in question is a 1.5l unit with 90bhp and 200Nm. Unlike the Nexon, the Altroz diesel does not come with an automatic but unlike the Punch, the Altroz has a diesel which is rare. The diesel engine is punchy and has ample torque which is perfectly suited for long journeys. There is hardly any turbo lag on the highway but the mid range is strong and it effortlessly cruises at high speeds. That said, some diesel clatter is evident while you think a 6 speed manual would have been more relaxing even though the current 5 speed does the job mostly. Efficiency and Comfort The best bit is the efficiency which has been 26kmpl on the highway while in the city it dropped to 17/18kmpl- great numbers although the small fuel tank could have been bigger. In the city you do yearn for an automatic with a heavier clutch than its (petrol) rivals but there is enough torque mostly not to constantly downshift. The suspension is superb though and it feels tough with the same SUV like appeal when driven over bad roads while the ground clearance is more than enough. The steering is light enough and it feels compact for the city but probably with the same toughness as a small SUV. Features and Practicality Other things we liked include the fact that there are no squeaks or rattles, no issues that we have faced till now while functions like the 360 degree camera and the audio system really make everyday life easy. It also looks fantastic with this colour while the flush door handles being cool aren't practical. The new interiors are much better in look and feel even though the light upholstery is already dirty and requires constant cleaning to maintain. Verdict Overall, the on road top-end Altroz diesel isn't cheap in terms of its price and there is no automatic but if you do long journeys and think SUVs are too common, then the Altroz diesel is the only choice. If you do the kind of mileage which requires a lot of highway use the Altroz diesel makes sense- it did for us.
