TVS Apache RTX First Look: Worth Getting?

TVS has launched its first adventure tourer in India and prices start at Rs 1.99 lakh. It will rival the likes of the KTM 250 Adventure and Royal Enfield Scram 440 while it has a new Next-Gen TVS RT-XD4 engine platform along with a 299.1 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke DOHC engine developing 36ps. The bike comes with a 6-speed transmission, slipper clutch and a Steel trellis frame. Colour options include Viper Green, Metallic Blue, Pearl White, Lightning Black, Tarn Bronze. The feature list includes a TFT screen with navigation/Bluetooth, tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ride modes, and connectivity. Other highlights include cruise control, four ride modes like Urban, Rain, Tour, Rally and Traction control, wheelie mitigation, and terrain-adaptive ABS. It has all the visual hallmarks of an ADV with a tall windscreen, chiselled tank and split seat. The motorcycle has good presence even if lacking some visual bulk. We do like the LED lamp and the beak like front. With a long list of rivals, the Apache RTX wont have it easy but it looks attractive and is well priced with a good amount of features on-board which will help to make it stand out. On first impressions, it sort of parks a fine line between road biased performance and off-road ADV while it looks similar to bigger adventure motorcycles out there. For TVS this is a big leap but the true test is when we ride it and that would be soon but for now, this is an interesting new launch in the fast growing ADV space out there.

Hyundai To Make Thar And Innova Rival With MPV And Off-Roader?

Hyundai has announced an onslaught of new cars coming in with 26 launches by 2030 along with seven new nameplates. This includes a new offroader and an MPV. Yes, Hyundai will enter these two segments of which it has not been a part of. Till date we have seen Hyundai's previous attempt at making an MPV but now it has confirmed that it is indeed developing these two new products amongst others. Hyundai has not confirmed or shared any details but expect the MPV to be in the premium segment above the Alcazar to be a rival to the Innova perhaps? We think it will be placed above the Alcazar. Hyundai could be developing this product for India and will be also likely to have a hybrid powertrain plus petrol or diesel. The other product is the even more interesting being an offroader which is Hyundai's first. The offroader would be a Thar rival or a Thar Roxx rival of sorts. Hence, it could be having a low range gearbox or be having a 4x4 system. We can expect a petrol or diesel to be offered here. These two products would fill the gaps in the range and cater to the changing demand. Hyundai has invested heavily and will do so to oversee it's new range which will grow bigger with new products. Having an MPV and an offroader would be crucial in that aspect. However, we can expect these cars to come only in two years or more time while for now Hyundai would be readying other products like an EV for our market plus a hybrid SUV amongst others.

Hyundai India Names Tarun Garg As First Indian MD And CEO, Effective 2026

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Tarun Garg as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO), effective January 1, 2026. Garg, who is currently serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), will be the first Indian to lead Hyundai Motor India since the company began operations in 1996. The announcement comes as current Managing Director Unsoo Kim prepares to return to South Korea for a strategic role at Hyundai Motor Company on December 31, 2025. Until then, Garg will serve as MD & CEO Designate, the company said in a regulatory filing to the BSE. “The board placed on record its appreciation for the valuable contribution and guidance provided by Unsoo Kim during his association with the company,” HMIL said in its statement. Garg, a mechanical engineer from Delhi Technological University and an MBA graduate from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, has more than three decades of experience in the automobile industry. Before joining Hyundai, he worked with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, where he held several key leadership positions including Executive Director of Marketing, Logistics, Parts, and Accessories. Hyundai praised Garg for his deep understanding of market dynamics and ability to develop forward-looking strategies. During his tenure at HMIL, he has been instrumental in expanding the company’s market presence, strengthening profitability, and leading new initiatives in digital marketing, rural expansion, and the used-car segment. Garg also played a key role in introducing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across nine Hyundai models in India, while improving sales quality and customer satisfaction. In a statement, Hyundai said Garg’s appointment is part of its long-term transformation plan to strengthen its foundation in India and accelerate its journey toward becoming a smart mobility solutions provider.
